Finally. All 10 tracks are into the CD Baby system. All legal information is provided. Album description and biographical information, all that. The release date is set for Friday, January 18th 2019. Of course I will keep you posted on how this is going with updates along the way. This is a solid Human Project release. A very organic sound that of course has the good lyrics and that Human rhythm that kinda makes my music unique. New album is, "In the works!" PRO Publishing means they register my songs and make them eligible for royalties should another artist record one of them. It also means they distribute my music to all other sites like Spotify and Itunes and collect my money from sales. They also provide me with monthly accounting information. I wouldn't do this any other way. So, lets just relax and get ready for new Human Project music to hit the music scene very early in the New Year. And yeah. Humanization continues!
For those of you who are not familiar with Loyd (The Human) and the Human Project, here is some biographical information that will familiarize you more. What started out as a hobby with the release of his 2006 CD “The Real Stuff,” has slowly turned into more serious business for Loyd (The Human) Vandergriff. His infectious beats and witty lyrics have slowly begun to catch on with fans all over the world. This is in spite of the fact that he has no label, no professional management or PR firm backing him. He writes all the songs, produces all his CD’s and markets them all himself. His download sales on all music sites like Spotify and ITunes have slowly increased over time as more and more people discover his music. Loyd was born in Georgia, and even though he left the south at age 13 and moved to California, his musical roots were established there. From Buddy Holly to Elvis to hot rockabilly, he started feeling those beats and they got down into his soul. He comes from a rather musical family as well, with some good fiddle, mandolin and guitar players. He got a good dose of these genes. He played in high school rock bands all 4 years in the late 60’s. From CCR to The Rascals to Steppenwolf, Wilson Pickett,The Beatles Stones, and more, all of this comes out in his music today in one way or another. In his 20’s, he got the nickname “The Human.” This came from his love of music, extensive vinyl collection and willingness to share it with the cold beer flowing. After over a 30 year period where he hardly played at all, he was given a Stratocaster by his partner and friend from Greenwood, Mississippi in 2005. It didn’t take long for the feeling to play to came back. He purchased a Boss BR 1600 recorder and starting messing around writing some songs. These tracks showed great promise, so he went into the studio in 2006 and recorded “The Real Stuff.” Songs like Jimmy’s Juke Joint, Standing in the Shadows and Red Vette Roll got people’s attention world-wide. In 2008 he recorded Human Project II, Humanized. This was followed up by several more over time, and his fan base continued to build. After a 3 year hiatus he released "Humanize," in 2017. This was received well by his fans and critics alike. Highway 58, Fast Train, Bar Room Meltdown are favorites from that release and always in his top download sales. Now there is "Fading to Gray." 10 more Human Project tracks. 6 original written by the Human and 4 covers. So, Humanization continues for his friends and fans. Hop on board and get on this train. Its a fun ride. The Human
This pic taken in December 2018, as the year winds down and 2019 upon us. 6 CD's released. Unique, witty music that can get into your soul and make ya feel good. "Fadin To Gray," will release in mid-January 2019 All tracks are uploaded to CDBaby. This includes a last minute addition, "57 Channels." This is a Bruce Springsteen track I recently was messin with, and it came out so good I wanted to include it on this new release. This brings the total to 10 tracks now. 6 Human Project originals and 4 cover tracks. Also completed is the licensing for each of the 4 cover songs. This will ensure the original artist will get compensated their part for any sales. I keep it legal and would never rip off another artist. Green check marks indicate song is uploaded in the CDBaby system, and all information has been provided they need. This includes protecting my original songs as well and getting me paid should others want to record my stuff. I still have to upload artwork. (Simple, its not a physical CD) and provide album description etc. Raw photo I might use for release. It has all my "Tools of the Trade." I use em all. On this release I play most of the instruments. On songs that I needed some good hot lead guitar work, I brought in AC Myles. Might as well get the best. So I did. And he is.
I am very pleased with this group of songs that I am getting ready to release. I think you will like them as well. No worries. I will give you more specific information of when this will be available for download. I hope you all had a great Christmas! They fly by don't they? Downhill to New Years Eve and 2019. That's kind of a mind blower too. I am still workin on the new release for 2019. It still has a release date of mid-January. The only change is that I have added one more track. 57 Channels (and nothin on). It's a Bruce Springsteen song that I cover. Here are the track listings for "Fadin to Gray." I will provide more detailed info on what is going on with each track as release date approaches.
