Have been going in and out of studio workin on another track. It's not my song, which is rare, but a Tom Petty one. Putting the "Human Touch," to it and it's finally started rounding into form this last session. A song can get to a critical point of whether its gonna make it or not, and this one finally crossed the treshold. :) So when I get it good and mixed will let you hear it on Human's Show on podomatic. This will not be released as a single. The Human plans to release a "digital album," early into 2019 and it will be on it for sure.
Getting ready to go into Pyramid. Can't judge a book by the cover, because inside is a cool little scene. Great board and equipment. 2017 "Humanize" was recorded there.
Just put down harmonica track on the song. Now relaxing and mixing it in. The Human rolls with O'douls now. There is a reason why he got the nickname "The Human." It wasn't because he drank O'douls. :) That keyboard? We got a killer Hammond B3 patch and used it to put some nasty key's on the track. How bout the board? :)
Live pic from 2012 or so. The Human does not play live now, not that he wouldn't consider it. Despite playing at Stanford in 2006, being inducted into the blues hall of fame in 2010 and being one of the top selling recording artist in the area, he has never gained much traction for live performances. He is content to write and record and share his music with his friends and fans. This has been workin just fine.
Just wanted to remind all fans that there is easy access to Human Project Music right here on this website under the CD's and Singles page. Just go to right hand top corner where it says menu and click there. Human Project music can be purchased from other sites like spotify, Itunes, Apple Music, etc. but its right here too.
The Human uses Fender amps. His personal favorite, a little Hot Rod Deluxe.
Dig The Strat. The Human's Favorite. But he has a nice Telecaster too.
Had a reunion of guys I have known at least 35-40 years. They were fellow teachers when I taught, and we have remained friends. We used to "party." Mercy. San Diego was good spot to hook up. Had a blast. Here are a couple of pics for ya.
Padres, Giants Game
Pacific Beach, San Diego
Pacific Beach. Sand and Surf
Da Boys. Circa 2018. Friends 35-40 years.
Doin a little studio work on a new track.
No hurry with it.
The Human and Jerry Leal of Pyramid Studio's in Fresno, CA
Main Floor of studio. I actually put down the strat tracks out there. Used a Shure 57 mic up against the amp with headphones. They played track into headphones and I just went with it. Booth in back is where I put down acoustic track. It's also vocal booth. Or sweatin booth. :)
Little arsenal I used in studio today. Yamaha SG 450 that is totally bad ass as far as I am concerned. Same for my Strat. And that little Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp is a little beast too.
The Human does have a home studio, and the heart of it is simply a Boss BR 1600 digital recorder. If you learn how to use it properly, it can be a beast and get you a great sound. Some of the songs have actually made it to be sold as singles, or even included on a CD. Keep it to Yourself, Mescaline Alley, 18 Wheels, Taliban Man, Dakota and many more have been recorded on it. This video gives you a superficial tour of the studio. It is not an in depth video on how to use the BR 1600. Many of you have never even seen The Human. :) He is the heart and soul of The Human Project. Songwriter and producer and promo man all into one. He does get great musicians to play with him on studio projects. They are all from local area. Many he has used many times, they are all listed on all the CD's.

A quick tour of The Human's home studio. And how he gets it done.
AC Myles and The Human. The Boss BR 1600 is right in front of us and AC is plugged in. I run "the board," to keep it balanced etc. Of course we both wear headphones when we get to this stage. I then mix it down to one track and put it into the mastering tool kit. Then the bad boy is complete.
